GIG HARBOR, Wash. (TCN) — A man allegedly fatally stabbed four people while authorities were on the way to his home to serve him with a domestic violence restraining order.
The Associated Press reports police were called Feb. 24 with a report that a man had violated a no-contact order. They learned it had not yet been served, so they planned to hand it to him when they arrived at the home. While en route, they received additional reports from neighbors that the man was allegedly stabbing people outside the home.
The AP reports responding deputies shot the suspect, a 32-year-old man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. He had allegedly stabbed four people; three were pronounced dead at the scene and a fourth died on the way to an area hospital. Neither the suspect nor any of the victims have been named by authorities. KOMO reports the relationship between the suspect and the victims is not yet known.
According to Pierce County, Washington, records obtained by the AP, a woman at the address had obtained a one-year protection order against her 32-year-old son in May 2025. She had written that he had substance abuse and mental health issues and that he threatened her by saying he had already dug her grave. She wrote he was “threatening me, abusing me both mentally and emotionally. Doing witchcraft/occult behavior and doing rituals in my home.”
Documents obtained by KIRO state the suspect allegedly believed he was an Egyptian god. On April 2, 2025, the suspect’s mother returned home to find that her house smelled strange, rugs were moved, and framed pictures were missing or destroyed. The order stated that “the smoke detector was going off, and my son was acting delusional. Evidence of occult rituals were present.”
Records obtained by the AP show the suspect received notice of a hearing before the order was issued but that he reportedly did not show up for it. In Washington, someone who obtains an order of protection can request law enforcement or a private investigator to deliver it; it is unknown why the order of protection had not been delivered.
The investigation is ongoing.
