COLUMBUS, Ohio (TCD) — A 32-year-old man is facing rape and kidnapping charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman with cerebral palsy twice and threatening her.
Franklin County Municipal Court records show Marcos Martinez Ramos was arrested Feb. 4 on charges of rape — threat of force, rape — victim has mental or physical condition, and kidnapping — engage in sexual activity.
According to court records cited by WBNS-TV, Ramos allegedly met the victim on social media and they struck up a relationship. On Dec. 16, 2023, he reportedly went to her home and raped her. As he was leaving, he allegedly told the victim he would kill her and her mother if she reported him.
Two weeks later, on Dec. 30, 2023, Ramos allegedly went back to the victim’s house and ordered her to get in his truck. He reportedly drove her to a Quality Inn, forcibly removed her clothes, and raped her a second time. WBNS reports court documents say the victim asked him to stop, but he refused.
Ramos allegedly hit the woman across the face with his hand and shoved her head in the toilet before taking her home.
The victim’s family reported her missing to the Columbus Division of Police that same day. Columbus Police officers were reportedly at her home when Ramos dropped her off, and she was taken to a hospital for a sexual assault exam.
On Jan. 25, the woman positively identified Ramos as the suspect in a photo lineup.
Ramos was booked into the Franklin County Jail, where he is being held on $750,000 bond.
