GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (TCN) —Â Authorities recently arrested a 61-year-old man on suspicion of killing another man over three decades ago.
According to a news release from Sgt. Todd Ringle with the Indiana State Police, on Sept. 2, 1993, 63-year-old Norman Ellerbrook’s body was discovered by his roommate at the bottom of the stairs to the basement. Investigators determined he died from blunt force trauma to his head. He also sustained multiple stab wounds, but police noted that the “wounds were not in any vital areas.”
Despite investigators’ efforts, the case went cold, but police and the FBI recently revisited Ellerbrook’s death. According to authorities, DNA evidence helped detectives identify Timothy Farber as the primary suspect.
On July 22, the Gibson County Prosecutor’s Office filed an arrest warrant for Farber on a charge of murder. He was arrested shortly after 4 p.m. and booked into the Gibson County Jail without bond.
