SALISBURY, Md. (TCN) — A cold case has recently come to a close after police arrested a man on suspicion of fatally stabbing a woman nearly two decades ago.
According to the Salisbury Police Department, on April 8, 2006, officers responded to an alley to a report of a woman yelling. At the scene, police located Denise Horsey with multiple stab wounds, and she was transported to a hospital but died from her injuries.
The case went cold for decades. On Sept. 22, a jury indicted 43-year-old Tyrone Hughey on charges of first- and second-degree murder, as well as first- and second-degree assault.
In a statement, police said, “No matter how much time passes, we remain determined to seek justice for victims and their families. This case also stands as a reminder that no one is forgotten or left behind, as demonstrated by the determined investigative work and interagency collaboration of the Salisbury Police Department and the willingness of caring community members to assist the department in its efforts.”
