A Florida man allegedly attacked another man with a machete, and, after injuring him, decided to take him to the hospital himself.
Angel Ramos-Arce, 35, was arrested on Monday in Osceola County and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery causing bodily harm, court records show. He was booked into the Osceola County jail.
The attack occurred on Monday outside a Circle K at 4692 West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. An employee at the convenience store said the suspect came in and started yelling at her, so she called her brother for help, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Miami Herald.
The brother reportedly showed up and confronted Ramos-Arce, and then so did the employee’s boyfriend, who tried to step between the brother and the suspect. When he did so, Ramos-Arce allegedly punched him in the face.
Ramos-Arce ran to his truck to grab a machete to “intimidate” them, the affidavit reportedly added, causing the Circle K employee’s brother and boyfriend to take off running. Ramos-Arce is said to have followed them, and once he caught up, slashed the brother’s arm.
The slashing was accidental, Ramos-Arce said, according to the affidavit reviewed by the outlet — and he was so remorseful that he told the victim to get into his truck so they could go to the hospital because he “felt bad.”
The woman identified Ramos-Arce’s truck for Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies and they reportedly followed it to a nearby hospital, AdventHealth Kissimmee. Once deputies arrived, they found the victim’s blood and the machete in Ramos-Arce’s truck, per WKMG, and he was arrested.
