Police are investigating a murder after a man was found dead and wrapped in plastic in a grocery car outside a supermarket in Chico, California.
Chico police said they were alerted to the scene shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon by caller who saw the body in the cart, located near the front of a FoodMaxx store.
Butte Emergency Medical Services personnel confirmed the death. Officers said the man was “wrapped in a large sheet of white plastic” and “appeared to have suffered visible injuries,” KTXL said.
The man’s identity has not been released, and it’s not clear if he has been identified by investigators.
