A Texas man was arrested for allegedly making threats against a bar owner who fired his girlfriend and setting fires outside the establishment.

Kevin Arthur Williams, 47, was booked into the Bexar County Jail on Tuesday after he was charged with arson and making terroristic threats. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by local NBC affiliate WOAI, Williams’ girlfriend had been fired from her job at the Chillie Willie’s Mustang Lounge in San Antonio, Texas. The couple went out to a different bar, where they encountered the owners of Chillie Willie’s and got into a verbal altercation.

During that argument, Williams allegedly threatened to kill the bar owner and burn Chillie Willie’s down.

Williams allegedly sent another Chillie Willie’s employee several threatening text messages about the bar owner, including, “Kill me or I kill her or she apologizes on every website” and “Isn’t it disappointing to know you have less than three hours to kill your homeboy? Or I kill [name redacted] LOL,” according to the affidavit also obtained by local ABC affiliate KSAT.

Williams, via text message, also reportedly said, “Either way I’m going to jail for a very long time or the mental institution.”

The affidavit said that when Williams ran into the bar owners another time, he allegedly yelled, “I’m going to kill you b—, [name redacted], you’re dead! I’m going to kill you. I’m going to kill you.” Williams then allegedly tried to physically attack the bar owner, but several people intervened to stop a physical fight from happening. A witness reportedly told police that Williams screamed the alleged threats around 50 times.

The tension came to a head on July 7, when Williams went to Chillie Willie’s and was seen by a witness getting out of his vehicle, pouring gas on the lawn outside the bar, and allegedly starting a fire. Witnesses were able to put the fire out, but then Williams allegedly started another one by the bar’s front porch. Surveillance video provided by an employee allegedly showed Williams starting one of the fires.

The fire caused $25,000 worth of damage to the bar, which temporarily closed.

Williams was charged with arson, terroristic threat causing fear of imminent serious bodily injury, and arson intended to damage habitation. He is currently in custody at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center on a combined bond of $130,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 20.
