WARREN, Ohio (TCD) — Marshals recently captured a 19-year-old man in Florida who allegedly killed a mother of four in Ohio last month and then fled the state.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, on Nov. 11, Noel Flores allegedly fatally shot 26-year-old Ashante Kirksey in her home on the 900 block of Francis Avenue SE. The statement said there was another unidentified victim who had been shot at the same location.
Flores allegedly broke into Kirksey’s home before shooting her and the second victim, WFMJ-TV reports. Kirksey, a nurse, had reportedly moved into the residence approximately two weeks prior.
In a news release, U.S. Marshals said Flores was wanted on suspicion of murder, and they offered a reward of up to $2,500 for any information leading to his arrest.
The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force investigated the case and later determined Flores had fled Ohio and gone to St. Petersburg, Florida. They worked with marshals in Florida and eventually located Flores at an apartment on the 10100 block of 12th Way North on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
Marshals recovered a 9 mm firearm in his possession believed to have been used in Kirksey’s shooting death. Flores was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County Jail and will be extradited back to Ohio.
U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said in a statement, “This is another example of the dedication our task force officers put into every investigation. This fugitive attempted to evade the reach of the U.S. Marshals Service but was unsuccessful because we will never stop looking for them no matter how far they run.”
