No topic was off limits at The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Season 6 reunion — including allegations about Mary Cosby’s Faith Temple Pentecostal Church.
As Mary addressed the accusations head-on during Part 2 of the RHOSLC reunion (more on that below), host Andy Cohen also asked Lisa Barlow and Whitney Rose specifically if they had “any comments about the cult rumor resurfacing” in a new documentary series.
“No. I stand on the side of I’m glad to see people standing up for Mary and supporting her,” Whitney replied. “I feel bad that they’re doing this to her.”
Lisa, for her part, added, “It’s old news. I wish it weren’t coming out.”
Despite her castmates’ supportive comments, Mary still called out both women for contributing to the conversation on RHOSLCÂ in the past, however.
After Mary pointed out that Whitney had previously stated on camera that her congregants “see her as God,” she later blasted Lisa for bringing former church member Cameron Williams on the show during Season 2, prior to his death.

How Mary Cosby responded to “cult” allegations about her church
Mary also blasted the cult rumor at the reunion, explaining, “They’ve been saying that since my church opened. They said it about my grandmother.” (Mary’s grandmother, Rosemary “Mama” Cosby, founded the church in 1968.)
While on the subject, Andy asked Mary for her theories on why that specific allegation “stuck” and had “been repeated” over the years.
“I don’t know. I think it’s because of the policy and the rules and the different things that our church does,” Mary responded. “And they’re not used to a Pentecostal church in Utah and not used to a Black church. And I just think they think it’s a [cult]. I don’t know. I have no idea.”

The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host further filled her in on how the docuseries’ trailer alleged that her “kink is money,” among other claims, before asking for Mary’s general reaction to the docuseries, which had not yet premiered when the Season 6 reunion filmed on Dec. 4.
“It hurt me, of course. It definitely hurt me,” Mary shared. “But I’ve been through a lot, Andy. I’m pretty tough, so it hurt, and it just got put in the pile of all the rest of the things that hurt me.”
Finally, Andy brought up the supportive response from fans, prompting Mary to add, “Yeah, that felt good. I’m thankful for that. But, I mean, you’ll see the truth.”
Why Mary Cosby has no regrets about not reconciling with her late mother
On a related note, Andy expressed his sympathy for the January 2025 death of Mary’s mom, Rosalind Cazares, before asking if she had “any regrets about not making amends before she passed.” When the RHOSLC cast member answered in the negative, the WWHL host asked her to elaborate.
“We’ve been estranged for twenty-something years,” Mary explained. “So, I don’t even know what it’s like to have a mom.”
ICYMI: Mary opened up during Season 6 about how her taking over the church (and marrying her step-grandfather, Robert Cosby Sr.) after her grandmother’s passing in 1997 had caused the rift with her mother.
“When my mom walked out of my life, I felt that absence,” Mary told a producer during Episode 4. “But my mom didn’t wanna speak to me, and so I gave her what she wanted. And when she left the earth a few months ago, it almost felt like it was actually official, because it became a whole bigger real hurtful reality.”
Get even more details on why Mary officially reopened her church — including to her castmates — during RHOSLC Season 6.
