Massachusetts Man Sentenced for Killing 2nd Wife, 41 Years After Conviction for Killing 1st Wife – Crime Online

A 68-year-old Massachusetts man was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to the murder of his wife last year.

It was the second time Kenneth Robson had been convicted of killing a wife.

Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni said that Robson called 911 early in the morning of April 30, 2024, and said he needed an ambulance because “he hit hiw wife with a hammer and she might be dead.”

Officers arrived and found 45-year-old Quitiza Holmes face down in a pool of blood with catastrophic head injuries and apparent defensive wounds. She was taken to a hospital, where she lingered for more than two weeks before succumbing to her injuries.

Forty-one years earlier, Robson was convicted for the murder of his then-wife, Joan Cusson. Guilluni did not say how long he spent in jail of when he was released, only that Cusson’s family had been outraged when he was released “and allowed the opportunity to commit another violent act.”

“This was a brutal and senseless attack that ended the life of Quitiza Holmes, a woman who should still be with her family and community today,” said Gulluni. “I want to express my deepest condolences to her loved ones, and I thank the Springfield Police Department and our prosecutors for their work in holding this defendant accountable. With today’s sentence, he will spend the remainder of his life in prison and will never again have the opportunity to harm another person.”
