Massachusetts Woman Charged With Trying to Kill Her Husband, Urged by Scammer Pretending to Be Soap Opera Star – Crime Online

A Massachusetts woman had been charged with attempted murder by investigators who claim someone claiming to be a famous soap opera star urged her to kill her husband.

Police said that Nicole Heath called on December 3 to say she was worried that her mother may have poisoned her father, Paul Doucette, who was hospitalized at the time, WCVB reported.

Heath told detectives that she was at the hospital with her mother, 64-year-old Roxanne Doucette, and saw messages on her phone that concerned her.

She said that her mother had been messaging a person she believed was “The Bold and the Beautiful” actor Thorsten Kaye and that the person had scammed her out of money. Heath said she was taking screenshots of the scam messages when she saw more disturbing messages.

“You have to get rid of your husband honey. I need you so much,” “Thorsten” wrote. Doucette replied that she needed to think about it.

Later on the day of that message, Doucette wrote, “Making an amazing soup. Special potion. He will be hungry when he gets back. Just enough for him.”

“Hubby got back not feeling well. Maybe I can collect life insurance,” Doucette wrote two hours later. “When will that be?” “Thorsten” asked, and Doucette replied, “Don’t know.”

Less than an hour later, she called 911 to say her husband was unresponsive, and he was taken to He was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center.

When her father regained consciousness, Heath told police that she asked him what he remembered about that day.

“Paul stated that Roxanne made him soup, but that it wasn’t very good. He stated that it tasted bitter,” the police report said.

After contacting police, Heath took her mother to the police station to speak with investigators. Doucette denied trying to hurt her husband but admitted that she had been talking to “Thorsten Kaye” and that she had been recently scammed out of $8,000.

Officers attempted to seize Doucette’s iPhone and iPad, but she refused to handing them over. When they tried to take her into custody for interfering with an investigation, she kicked one of them in the crotch.

Doucette was ultimately charged with attempted murder, intimidation of a witness, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officers and released on bond with orders to stay away from her husband and daughter and get a mental health evaluation, Boston 25 reported.

She was later charged with violating a protective order for sending a letter to Paul Doucette, which she was barred from doing, WCVB said.

The hospital conducted a toxicology test on Paul Doucette, but only tested for opioids, cocain, and alcohol, documents said. The tests were negative for those substances.

Roxanne Doucette told WCVB that “Thorsten” told her he loved her and wanted her to leave Paul. “But I had no intentions of leaving my husband,” she said. “I love my husband very much.”

“I would never try to poison anyone,” she said. “I mean, I did daycare for 15 years. I had a licensed daycare. I’ve done nursing and I have taken care of people. I would not hurt anyone.”

She also said she was “a wonderful cook” who “learned from the best — my mom.”

“And I did not try to poison my husband.”

Doucette said she is no longer talking to “Thorsten” and doesn’t even have her phone and tablet any more.
