Matthew Perry’s Death Investigated by LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division – Crime Online

Los Angeles police’s robbery homicide division is reportedly investigating the death of “Friends” star Matthew Perry, who was found dead at his home on Saturday.

TMZ reported that foul play is not suspected in Perry’s death, and that police involvement is standard protocol for a high profile case. Perry, 54, was found dead in a jacuzzi at his home in the Pacific Palisades after playing pickleball at a country club.

“The patient was found by a bystander who had re-positioned the victim where the head was out of water,” the Los Angeles Fire Department said in a statement issued to the Los Angeles Times.

Reports indicated that no illicit drugs were found at Perry’s home.

An autopsy was completed but Perry’s cause of death is currently listed as “deferred.” The medical examiner’s investigation — which will likely include toxicology testing — is expected to take months. A source told the Los Angeles Times that investigators have not concluded whether Perry drowned.
