Mercedeh Javid’s twilight open house finally arrived on The Valley: Persian Style, with a major VIP in the crowd: her boss, Mauricio Umansky.

Prior to Mercedeh’s big real estate event at Golnesa Gharachedaghi’s sister Leila’s home, Mauricio, who is the founder and CEO of The Agency, had given her a heads-up that he would be there to provide “a proper assessment” of her work. “He was like, ‘Show me what you’ve got. If you f–k up, I’m gonna call you out,” she told one attendee during Season 1, Episode 8.

As Mercedeh added in a confessional, “I’m having a party for 60 current clients, future clients, my bosses, and all of my peers and friends who are fighting with each other. Do I feel pressure to make sure it’s successful? Absolutely.”

Mauricio, meanwhile, arrived unnoticed and began opening drawers and cupboards and even checked a ceiling light bulb, before approaching Mercedeh with his honest thoughts on her open house.

The estranged husband of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Kyle Richards started off with the negatives: “The color scheme is a little, like, stark-ish, and it’s also a little dated,” he opined. “It feels a little bit like a hospital in the hallways. There’s just no warmth to it.”

That being said, he continued, “You should be able to sell around that and get through that. But this looks good. You did a good job. You had a good turnout. I like the Mamitas. The signs look good.”

With that stressor out of the way, Mauricio asked Mercedeh for an update on how everything had been going since they last met, and he’d give her some advice on how to further her real estate career and start bringing in a million-dollar income.

“I did some door-knocking in my neighborhood,” she informed him, adding that she “did miss a few drop-offs and pickups” at her and Tommy Feight’s 6-year-old son Shams’ school. (Though she’d asked Tommy to help in that area, he was 30 minutes late picking up Shams from school the previous day.)

“But you’re doing the work, and you’re starting to see that it’s showing,” Mauricio reminded her. “I love that. Good job.”

As Mercedeh concluded in a confessional, “I love doing a good job at work, and I love that I’m in the company of such greatness as Mauricio. And he gives me the confidence back. Like, go crush it. The sky’s the limit on my real estate career. I just have so many goals now.”

Inside Mauricio Umansky’s career advice for Mercedeh Javid

Though Leila’s open house was already on her schedule when Mercedeh previously sat down with Mauricio during Episode 6, this was the exact type of event that he’d advised her to focus on, to increase her yearly earnings to a “cool” $1 million.

“Door-knocking will not get you to a million next year,” he told her. “You have a social media following, right? What about growing the social media following? Becoming extremely knowledgeable about your neighborhood. Some people hold open houses.”

As mentioned, Mauricio also warned Mercedeh that, in order to hit her money-making goal, she would likely have to start offloading some of her parenting duties, too.

“Being a mother is the hardest thing on the planet,” he said. “By the same token, you may have to miss a pickup. You need to think about how you launch your career into new heights.”

Mercedeh, for her part, praised her boss for bringing “a finesse and knowledge to real estate that is unmatched.”
