As Mercedeh Javid strategized ways to elevate her real estate career on The Valley: Persian Style, she tapped boss Mauricio Umansky for some mentorship.

Cameras were rolling as Mercedeh sat down for a one-on-one with Mauricio, who is the founder and CEO of The Agency, during Season 1, Episode 6. He kicked off their conversation by asking Mercedeh about motherhood.

She updated Mauricio on how Shams, her 6-year-old son with Tommy Feight, was already in kindergarten, while noting that her life had been especially “busy” lately, considering she never missed a school pickup of dropoff.

“Before Shams was born, I knew that I was going to be a stay-at-home mom until he started kindergarten,” Mercedeh explained in a confessional. “Now that he’s at this age, I’m trying to level up my business. I love working for Mauricio. He brings a finesse and knowledge to real estate that is unmatched.”

The estranged husband of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Kyle Richards, meanwhile, wasted no time giving Mercedeh some valuable career advice.

“Being a mother is the hardest thing on the planet, right?” Mauricio told her. “By the same token, you may have to miss a pickup. You need to think about how you launch your career into new heights.”

Mauricio Umansky advised Mercedeh how to make $1 million in a year

As their meeting continued, Mauricio asked Mercedeh how much money she wanted to earn in 2026. When she revealed her goal of raking in “a cool million,” he wanted to know how she planned on making that number a reality.

Mercedeh suggested that doing some “door-knocking” would up her game, but Mauricio had other ideas.

“Door-knocking will not get you to a million next year,” he said. “You have a social media following, right? What about growing the social media following? Becoming extremely knowledgeable about your neighborhood. Some people hold open houses.”

That reminded Mercedeh that she had recently spoken to a seller about having a twilight open house, and Mauricio encouraged her to up the stakes by inviting him to attend.

“I want to see how you do it,” he explained. “I want to see how you set it up. I want to see what you deliver. I want you to be creative. I’m gonna give you a proper assessment, to help you.”

Agreeing that would be a “great start” for her, Mercedeh concluded in a confessional, “I want Mauricio’s praise. I want him to see me as, like, a really strong, great, powerful, female real estate agent powerhouse. Mhm. Baddie.”

Details on Mercedeh Javid’s real estate career with Mauricio Umansky at The Agency

Mercedeh previously shared details about her real estate career during The Valley: Persian Style‘s series premiere in January.

“From the last time that I was on television, I got back into real estate — but not just back into real estate, I joined The Agency,” the Shahs of Sunset alum said of her 2023 hiring. “Working for Mauricio, it’s a really big deal for me.”

Even prior to that, Mercedeh shared during a 2024 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she had “a lot of interaction” with Mauricio, in her role at his brokerage.

“We have meetings every week. You can text him and he’s a phone call away,” she described to host Andy Cohen. “He’s so amazing. We’re really the best players in the game, so that’s why I love being there. There are so many partners that are a part of what makes The Agency. So, it’s incredible.”

As she works toward leveling up her career on The Valley: Persian Style, find out what inspired Mercedeh to enter the real estate business in the first place.
