Before viewers officially met Dara Huang on the Ladies of London: The New Reign premiere, she had already been a major topic of conversation among the cast.
At Mark-Francis Vandelli’s garden party, Kimi Murdoch was quick to bring up a rumor that Dara “is a madam,” which she had heard from Martha Sitwell and Margo Stilley. The accusation prompted a vehement denial from Dara’s longtime friend Myka Meier, who touted her accomplishments and character, including that she’s a “highly intelligent” woman who “could not be further from a madam.”
Because Dara could not attend the gathering due to a prior commitment at a wedding in Tuscany, Myka later debriefed her fellow American on the “ridiculous and absurd” gossip that was going around about her. Perhaps no one was more surprised than Myka, however, when Dara appeared to be totally unfazed by the chatter.

“You know what? That bothers me, like, none, because it’s not true,” Dara responded. “Whatever. This is, like, so beneath me. I don’t care.”

Dara describes herself as an architect, designer, co-parent, and daughter of immigrants in her Instagram bio. She’s also Harvard University alum, who later founded Design Haus Liberty and Dara Maison, in addition to working as a TV presenter in the United Kingdon.

Dara holds a master’s degree in architecture from Harvard University. As she explained during the Ladies of London: The New Reign premiere, she started her UK-based architecture and interior design firm, Design Haus Liberty, in 2013 when she was roughly 29 years old. Dara went on to launch her first furniture and product line, Dara Maison, in 2023.
One clip from the episode showed her announcing to her staff that she was working on a collaboration with her “dear old friend,” tennis star Venus Williams.

“I have a team that’s global,” Dara explained in a confessional. “I work with contractors, developers, and funds. I just need everything to be a little bit more serious because I work in a man’s world.”
She continued, “I basically never turn off. I find it hard to holiday. I am thinking about work pretty much all the time.”

In Episode 1, Dara went on to share that she’s a mother to a “beautiful son” named Wolfie, who has a “lovely stepmother,” Princess Beatrice York. An onscreen headline revealed that Wolfie’s father is British property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
“You always hear those horror stories about your ex’s new partners and not getting along, but she’s so kind,” Dara added of Princess Beatrice. “And I’m very lucky to have that sort of support and kindness.”
As for her own family outside of Wolfie, Dara is also the “daughter of a NASA scientist who emigrated from Taiwan to the United States,” according to her professional bio.
Dara Huang and Myka Meier’s friendship drama, explained
By Myka’s account, she and Dara met as teenagers during the undergrad years at the University of Florida and had continued to foster their “pretty strong” friendship for the past 24 years. Myka even shared that they have affectionately called each other “Bunny” for more than a decade.
As Dara told a producer, however, she and Myka “weren’t super close” in college, and “still weren’t that close” when they both “met back up” in London, years later.
“Myka looks up to me for business,” she said. “I feel like she’s still really trying to find what it is that will bring her success, and she’s not quite there yet.”
Either way, Dara and Myka’s friendship appeared to be in jeopardy when Missè Beqiri dropped a big claim about them. According to Missè, Dara had privately confided in her that she was “embarrassed of” Myka and had allegedly referred to her as “cringe,” among other negative descriptors.
The end of Episode 1 teased that the issue will arise at Dara’s upcoming dinner, sparking major friction between her and Myka.
After Myka declared that she was “hurt” and asked her longtime friend to step outside for a talk in a sneak peek at the dinner, Dara dismissed the request, simply replying, “No, babe.”
