Melissa Gorga is enjoying the sweet taste of success.
On Thursday, June 19, The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom took a moment to celebrate another milestone in her career: the semi-anniversary of her dessert company, Let’s Sprinkle by MG. Melissa reposted a promotional shot for the ever-growing business and suggested she and her team had more up their sleeve.
“Celebrating 6 Months Of Let’s Sprinkle By MG,” read a post on the business’s Instagram. “From cookies to cakes, these last six months have been incredible. And we’re just getting started…..”
Melissa Gorga shares details on her cookie business’s quick success
Since announcing Let’s Sprinkle in late 2024, Melissa has expanded its offerings from sprinkle cookies to a buttery coffee cake with streusel. She spoke about the business in an April 1 interview with People magazine, saying the business had generated $500,000 in revenue within its first three months.
“I was so overwhelmed, but also overjoyed with how the response was to the sprinkle cookies,” she told the outlet. “Everyone went so crazy, so we knew we wanted to do something more.”
What does Melissa Gorga’s family think of Let’s Sprinkle by MG?
Melissa said she and the company’s baker began collaborating on a coffee cake and eventually landed on a “fun” and “so delicious” recipe that received her family’s stamp of approval.
“I have [the coffee cake] here at my house, and we just cut away at it every time we have a cup of coffee at night,” said Melissa, who shares three kids — Antonia, Gino, and Joey Gorga — with her husband, Joe Gorga. “When we want a little snack, we just keep cutting a little bit off. I’m going to turn into a sprinkle, because I can’t stop.”
She continued: “The reason I developed this company is it truly is my favorite type of dessert and cookie. It’s really what I love, so it’s dangerous to have this all over my house all the time.”
What inspired Melissa Gorga to start a sprinkle cookie business?
As many fans know, sprinkle cookies caused a bit of drama in RHONJ Season 3, when Melissa’s estranged sister-in-law, Teresa Giudice, shaded Melissa for bringing the desserts to a family gathering. Melissa said the moment inspired her to launch a cookie business many years ago, but the timing wasn’t right.
“I’ve been very busy, obviously, with filming the show and with Envy, and I have the podcast, right? And three kids. And Joe,” she said during an interview with Decider. “So like, I’ve always had in the back of my mind, like, ‘I need to come out with my own sprinkle cookie,’” “
Melissa said she never wanted to collaborate with an existing cookie company because she wanted her creations to be her own.
“So I waited, I waited. And believe it or not, even though I waited quite a while, it ended up being the perfect timing,” she said. “It just blew up and it went viral, obviously, on TikTok. People love it and it’s fun and they love to make fun TikToks and tasting videos. And now I’m sure they’ll do the same thing with the cake.”
