Melissa Gorga is showing off the chaos that was caused at her house on the Jersey Shore after a summer storm recently rolled in.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom took to Instagram, where she revealed the effects of the storm, which took place at her and Joe Gorga’s vacation house in New Jersey. Their security cameras were able to capture footage of the backyard during the storm, which she described as a “tornado” that took place.
In the video, wind can be seen rolling through their pool deck, leading to their lounge chairs being blown into their pool in addition to their cabana, which ended up upside down in the water. The torrential rains and winds can be seen blowing wildly around the back patio, which happened to give Melissa quite a scare. “A tornado just blasted through my shore house,” she wrote in the caption of the post, along with a sob and pleading face emoji. “Literally came through for one minute, wrecked the joint, and left.”
“WHAT NO,” Melissa and Joe’s oldest child, Antonia Gorga, wrote in the comments of the post.
“Omg that is so scary!!,” Margaret Josephs added. “Thank God you are ok!!”

The next day, Melissa took to her Instagram feed to post a video of how they cleaned everything up once the storm rolled away. In the video, Joe can be seen lifting the cabana out of the pool with the help of his neighbors, who stood along the edge of the water. “The aftermath…Believe it or not, we recovered everything, and nothing even has a scratch on it,” she added.
She also took to her Instagram Story, where she posted a photo of the cabana floating in the pool. “Thank God for good neighbors,” she added.

Melissa’s love for her six-bedroom shore house in Tom’s River has been long documented. Although Melissa had thought about selling the house in order to purchase something in the Hamptons, she changed her mind.
In an interview with BravoTV.com in 2024, Melissa explained her reasoning for not selling the shore house. “I think I decided even if we get something in the Hamptons as well, we’re not going to,” she noted about the home, which she purchased in 2019. “I have the best property for where I grew up. And I’m like, you can’t rebuy the piece of property that I have in Tom’s River.”

“My roots are there,” she continued. “I went to high school there. I just said to Joe, this is actually something… we’re going to hold on to this and give it to our kids’ kids. There’s no reason to let it go as of now.”
