Mercedeh Javid is sharing a major update on her co-parenting situation with her ex, Tommy Feight, amid their divorce. The Valley: Persian Style cast member and her ex were married for seven years and share a 6-year-old son, Shams Feight, together before Mercedeh filed for divorce last month. But they are still maintaining a friendship for Shams.
Mercedeh took to Instagram on Thursday, Nov. 27, also known as Thanksgiving, where she revealed that she spent the holiday with Tommy and Shams. The mom of one posted a group photo of a bunch of men in her life, including Tommy, who stood in the photo with his hands on Shams’ shoulders. She also posted another black-and-white, family photo of her and her parents, standing next to Tommy and Shams.
She took to her podcast, Till the Dirt, on Saturday, Nov. 29, where she opened up about their Thanksgiving plans. “Today, on Thanksgiving, I’m going to be spending it with my whole family,” she said. “Shams, Tommy, my mom, Johnny and Brangelina, they are hosting us again.”

But, co-parenting hasn’t been easy for Mercedeh. During the podcast episode, Mercedeh admitted that it’s been hard for her to watch her son go between two houses. “I’m gonna be honest,” she continued. “It has been hard. It has been hard because I am afraid of the future, of what Shams is thinking and feeling.”

“So I’m hoping that will be, you know, when he’s able to talk to somebody at school, counselor or otherwise, and maybe he’ll express a little bit to me,” she noted. “Maybe he’ll express a little bit to some family. I don’t know yet, but that’s where I’m out right now, where I’m ready for us to have a mommy conversation about how we’re like a check-in.”Â

But, these changes haven’t been so bad for Mercedeh. During the same podcast episode, she revealed that she has been loving her new house, especially since it is much lighter than her old place.

“I still can’t get over this bright white bedroom that I’m sitting in. It’s so freaking surreal,” she said. “Obviously, I downsized. So it’s not like I’m saying that I moved in quite yet to my big house in Hidden Hills, but it is so beautiful and bright and gorgeous. And I can see the sky. And when I tell you, Tommy and I, like while we were happily married, I would say to myself, the next house we live in, we need to be able to see the sky.”
