Thankfully, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast escaped Molly Sorensen’s clutches and survived their RV camping trip — and Meredith Marks had a theory as to why they made it through the Season 6 premiere unscathed.
The last time viewers saw the ladies, they appeared lost and scared in the darkness of Utah’s Provo Canyon amidst a nighttime investigation into the legend of Molly Sorensen, whom Heather Gay described as “a fundamentalist Mormon” who kidnapped and sacrificed young women with “loose morals.” The premiere’s final images were of a distressed Meredith struggling to return to their campsite, and just as we heard the sound of a woman shrieking, her self-filmed camcorder footage went dark.
What happened next may remain another one of Provo Canyon’s mysteries, though, because Season 6, Episode 2, picked up the next morning with all of the women — including Meredith, of course — safe and sound in their beds aboard the RV.
“They’re not gonna let us die,” Meredith explained with a laugh in a fourth wall-breaking confessional. “It’s too big of a liability for the network.”

Even though the previous night’s cinematic scare-fest had a victimless ending, the real horrors still lingered for some of the women, as they were forced to brush their teeth by the river and prepare their own breakfasts outdoors.
“Look, you guys, we had a rough night, so I think it’s time to pack it up and head home,” trip co-host Angie Katsanevas eventually declared, while Heather admitted to a producer, “I cannot wait to get home to indoor plumbing, a bed alone, and the ability to wash my hands with a sink that drains.”
Before the group, which also included Bronwyn Newport, Mary Cosby, Whitney Rose, and Britani Bateman, could make their final escape, however, they got one last not-so-pleasant surprise when the RV got stuck and all of them — except Mary — had to get out and push the vehicle out of a rut.
Meredith Marks debriefs Lisa Barlow on RHOSLC‘s “crazy” RV trip
Because Lisa Barlow opted out of Angie and Mary’s so-called “Class A getaway,” later, Meredith took the opportunity to fill her in on what she’d missed during a party on RHOSLC‘s Sept. 23 episode. At that point, though, Heather had already informed Lisa that she — and “all of her lawsuits” — had been a major topic of conversation among the women.
“You missed our crazy trip. It was interesting,” Meredith informed her, at which point Lisa brought up her earlier lunch with Heather.
“She kinda told me, you know, about the trip and, like, who wasn’t a good friend and who was,” Lisa elaborated. “She told me, like, that legal stuff came up. Was there anything else I need to know?”

As Meredith replied, “You know, there was a lot said — a lot — and I think the women need to have a chance to talk to you and say what they said, because it was not nice. It wasn’t.”
Britani joined them and spilled more tea about the mini getaway, prompting Lisa to confront Angie. Soon afterward, Bronwyn, who copped to starting the lawsuit discussion, also entered the fray.
Though Meredith had initially told Lisa she thought it would be a good idea for her to hash out some issues, she seemed to quickly change her mind as the argument escalated. Meredith ultimately cited the “not great timing” while encouraging Bronwyn to pause the conversation until Lisa was more “calm.”
Meredith Marks opens up about Lisa Barlow’s absence from the cast trip
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, Meredith echoed comments she made during Episode 1 about the women discussing Lisa’s alleged legal issues amid her absence.
“The conversation about lawsuits with someone who’s not present did not sit very well with me,” she explained.
Ultimately, she “was sad” that Lisa did not join them on the trip, “because it’s fun to be with her and have her company.”
“But we all work, and we all have different things going on. You can’t be everywhere at once,” Meredith reasoned, referencing Lisa’s prior business-related obligation. “I wasn’t upset or angry about it, I just was disappointed that we didn’t have her with us.”
As the drama continues to heat up, don’t miss what else Meredith teased about RHOSLC‘s “crazy” Season 6.
