The wife of a missing Iowa father says she believes someone sinister happened as the search continues into its 10th day.
As CrimeOnline previously reported, 53-year-old David Schultz, of Wall Lake, was last heard from on November 21. His wife, Sarah Schultz, told The Sioux City Journal that his red truck was found parked in the northbound lane of Highway 71 on November 21, around five miles north of the old Highway 20 intersection.
Sarah added that the truck was still loaded with young pigs and found in the middle of the road, unlocked. Police discovered his coat in a nearby ditch. His wallet, cash, and his cell phone were located inside the truck.
“Late in the afternoon, I found out that he missed a load, and I just got sick to my stomach,” she told WeAreIowa 5. “He would never miss a load, he’s their guy. From then on I knew something was bad wrong.”
“I want him home. You know, my kids need their dad. He’s a good man, I just, I want my David … he’s mine. And someone took him, I know someone took him.”
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is now aiding the Sac County Sheriff’s Office and Lake View Police in the investigation. The nonprofit search group, United Cajun Navy, is also assisting with searches.
Schultz is described as a white male who stands 5 feet 11 and weighs around 180 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was “last known to be wearing wrangler blue jeans, cowboy boots, and a Peterbilt hat,” according to a GoFundMe page set up to help in the search.
As of Thursday, Sac County police said there are no new developments in the case.
Meanwhile, police are asking Northeast Sac County property owners to check around their property and their outbuildings for “anything out of the ordinary.”
The Lake View Police Department has asked anyone who has seen or heard from Schultz to contact the Lake View Police Department at 712-657-2513 or the Sac County Communications Center at 712-662-7127.
