Missing Minute Recovered From Night Jeffrey Epstein Died in Jail – Crime Online

On Tuesday, the House Oversight Committee released a trove of documents, including a missing minute of surveillance footage from the night billionaire financier and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein died at a New York jail in 2019.

The 33,000 pages included the widely-disputed missing minute — 11:58:59 on August 9 to midnight on August 10, 2019 — that had been missing from the video footage released by the Justice Department and FBI months earlier.

Fox News reported that digital forensic experts said the footage released at the time was two separate video files that had been joined together with Adobe Premiere Pro.

In August 2019, Epstein was found hanged in his cell in New York while awaiting trial for sex trafficking; his death was ruled a suicide.

In July, the FBI released nearly 11 hours of surveillance footage from outside Epstein’s cell the night he died. However, it was quickly realized that a minute of footage was missing from the video file.

The latest file dump shows the camera data storage switched around midnight, possibly explaining why the two files were joined. Fox News reported that the recovery of the missing minute also contradicts Attorney General Pam Bondi’s previous claims that the last minute of footage is deleted every night.

Politico reported that the documents were given to the House Oversight Committee late last month, but they took more than a week to review them.

The committee’s Republican majority stated they were coordinating with the Justice Department to ensure information was redacted which could infringe on the victims’ privacy or jeopardize any ongoing criminal investigation.
