Missing Woman Domonic Davis Found Dead After Taking Flight to Memphis – Crime Online

A Tennessee woman who vanished on New Year’s Eve has been found dead, according to the Memphis Police Department.

On Thursday, investigators confirmed the discovery of 40-year-old Domonic Davis’s body in the vicinity of an overpass at Sam Cooper Blvd. and High Point Terrace. Her cause of death is currently unclear.

“They called to say that to check on the tattoos because we had matching tattoos. Then a couple hours later, they called to confirm because they did a fingerprint. They confirmed indeed it was her,” her sister, Temeka Outlaw, told Fox 13.

The Memphis Police Department said the “circumstances and details surrounding her death are currently under investigation.” No arrests have been announced.

Fox 13 reports that Davis was last seen December 30 in the Summer Ave. and High Point Terrace area of Memphis. According to Fox 13, Davis’ mother became concerned when her daughter failed to attend church on December 31.

The mother contacted Davis’ boyfriend, who reportedly told her that he dropped Davis off near a pawn shop on Summer Avenue. Officers searched the vicinity and local hospitals, but couldn’t locate her.

“My mama just kept saying she had a bad feeling in her stomach. She just kept saying, ‘something is not right, I’ve lost a child before, something is not right,’” Outlaw added, according to News 3.

An MPD report indicated that police searched the boyfriend’s apartment and found Davis’ belongings. The boyfriend reportedly showed the officers some text messages and said he called Davis to come pick up her belongings, but she didn’t respond.

Outlaw said her sister told her that she moved to Memphis around Thanksgiving to be with her boyfriend.

“It’s like a bad dream. I don’t wish this on anybody,” Outlaw said, adding that she lost another sister in 2009 to domestic violence.

“There’s a certain amount of peace right now that comes along right now because we have found her.”

Meanwhile, the family has vowed to find out what happened to Davis and won’t stop until they get answers.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact the Memphis Police Department.
