A California woman who was charged last month with killing her 1-day-old son is now charged with killing another infant in 2015.
Marisol Flores, 30, allegedly murdered a 25-day-old baby in November 2015. Prosecutors said new evidence in the 2015 case was uncovered after she was charged with killing her newborn son at a homeless encampment in Oxnard in February, according to the Ventura County Star.
The deceased newborn was found at the homeless encampment on February 8. The next day, witnesses reported seeing Flores — who did not appear to be pregnant and was without her baby.
An autopsy determined the newborn died from a sharp force injury to the head. His death was classified a homicide.
Ventura County prosecutors have not revealed what specific evidence led to them charging Flores in the 2015 case.
Flores is charged with murder and assault on a child causing death. Her bail was set at $500,000.
