An Indiana woman was arrested on Wednesday after her 22-month-old child was found dead while in her care.
Shelbyville police officers responded to a residence and found Sophie Igou beside her child, who was lying on their driveway. WXIN reported that the child was quickly confirmed to be dead, though how they died remains unclear.
An autopsy has been requested, but it is unknown when it will be completed.
Igou is facing charges of neglect of a dependent causing death. Additional charges are pending.
