A New York woman was arraigned on Monday, weeks after her neglected 1-year-old son was reportedly found dead in a closet.
Rochester police who responded to reports of an unresponsive child on November 2 discovered William Nichols’ body in a closet at the Manhattan Square Apartments. WXXI reported that Nichols was last seen alive in July — and his mother, Passion Anderson, 32, is facing second-degree murder charges as investigators believe he was extremely dehydrated and malnourished.
It is unclear when Nichols died. WHEC reported that Anderson was in the apartment when her son’s body was discovered.
According to WXXI, Anderson is currently hospitalized for undisclosed reasons. She is due back in court on January 4.
