Mom Of 4 Jacqui Purton Mowed Down By Ex-Boyfriend’ A mother-of-four died after her ex-boyfriend allegedly run her down with a car at Campania in Tasmania on Monday, March 13. Jacqui Purton, 37, has left behind four children, including a 20-year-old daughter and three sons after she was allegedly crushed to death by her former partner at a rental property in north-east of Hobart.
Following the reports that Purton had been critically injured, emergency services rushed to the place of incident at about 3.30 am but were unable to save her. On Monday morning, March 13, a white Holden Commodore sedan with a cracked bumper bar and a broken window was parked in the driveway. “Police have alleged that the man was known to the 37-year-old woman who died from serious injuries after being struck by a car on a property in Native Corners Road,” Tasmanian police said in a statement. “The man will appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court tomorrow,” the statement added.

Jacqui Purton tried to ‘live an amazing and free life’
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, Purton’s mother, Leanne Walford, said that her daughter and the 38-year-old alleged killer met in 2019 and were together for about four years before breaking up in September 2022. “We don’t know the details or why he was there on Monday or anything except that he [allegedly] ran her over,” she said. Purton’s sister Zoe said that the late mother tried to “live an amazing and free life” while working at a food van to provide for her four children who are all from her previous relationships.
Victim’s eldest daughter Shakira will raise younger siblings
Talking about Purton’s eldest daughter Shakira, Zoe said that she is “amazing and so strong but it’s because she doesn’t want to break down in front of those boys. She wants to be there for [them].” Purton’s sister confirmed that orphaned daughter Shakira will be taking care of her younger siblings. Zoe went on to recount that the family was delivered the news of Purton’s death on social media. “My mum woke up and saw where it happened. She followed up and we had it confirmed,” she said. She then remembered her sister as a loving mother who “lived for her children,” while adding, “She wasn’t always given an easy hand, but no matter what she still raised her children as a single mum and hustled to make sure they never went without.” Zoe has created a GoFundMe page to raise money for the children and to help cover the costs of her sister’s funeral.
