PHOENIX (TCN) – A Phoenix man has been arrested and is facing second-degree murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of his neighbor, authorities say.

KSAZ reports that in February, 35-year-old Danielle Little accidentally backed into her neighbor’s car and was told that she owed them $100 for repairs.

On March 23, her neighbor, 21-year-old Daniel Rombach Jr. and the woman who lives with him allegedly confronted Little about the debt. According to a police report obtained by the outlet, Rombach then allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Little.

According to KSAZ, Jayden Daniels, Little’s son, said it happened “In front of all the kids and everybody. Her whole body was bloody. Her mouth was coming out with blood.”

According to KPNX, Little’s husband was next to her during the argument. He said, “We got into a yelling argument that escalated… bam, he shot — no hesitation,” Kyle said. “You’ve got to be a coward to shoot somebody… because you’re scared to get your butt whooped.”

Little died on the way to the hospital. On March 24, Rombach was taken into custody at his apartment, according to KSAZ.

Arizona’s Family reports that a neighbor videotaped the moment when Little was shot at point-blank range. Little’s sister, Hailey Byer, said that regarding the car accident, “She accidentally backed up into his car, no scratches or anything. She’s like, ‘I’ll pay you 100 bucks. Don’t call the cops. She didn’t have a lot of money but she was gonna pay it back in two weeks. She didn’t have the money to pay that $100. She had to pay rent.”

Byer told KSAZ that Little’s life was not easy; she reportedly had used drugs in the past but got clean for her kids. “She loved her kids to death,” Byer said. Of Rombach, Byer said, “I hope he rots in hell.”

Little was a mother of seven children, her youngest still in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Rombach is being held on a $1 million cash-only bond and is scheduled to appear in court March 30, per KSAZ.
