A Texas woman allegedly shot her four children on Saturday, killing two of them.
Oninda Romelus, 31, allegedly drove to a gas station in Angleton and called 911. Responding deputies found O’Karreo Covington, 13, deceased in the front passenger seat with a gunshot wound to the head, and Amourra Chapell, 3, dead in the backseat, according to KHOU.
Romelus’ two other children — a 9-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy — were reportedly shot in the arm. The pair were hospitalized but are speaking with investigators.
Surveillance footage showed Romelus purchasing $56 worth of gas while on the phone with 911, KHOU reported.
Romelus, who appeared paranoid, allegedly told detectives, “Instead of them doing it to me, I’m gonna do it to them.” When detectives asked what “it” meant, Romelus reportedly responded, “Kill them all.”
According to KPRC, Romelus also said her children were with the “devil” and “dead to her.”
The Daily Mail reported that Romelus appeared on “Paternity Court” in 2013 to determine who fathered one of her sons. Romelus said she cheated on her fiancé with two men, and she was unsure who fathered the child. However, a paternity test determined neither man was the father.
Officials have not confirmed where the deadly shooting took place. Romelus, who is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, remains jailed on $14 million bail.
