On Thursday, Georgia police arrested a man for sexually assaulting and stabbing a woman who reportedly survived having a knife lodged in her head.
East Point police officers responding to an apartment complex allegedly found the woman, who had a knife sticking out of her head. The woman said Rodriguez Fogle, 36 — a relative — had sexually assaulted her, according to WXIA.
The woman fled the apartment by jumping out of a window with her two small children. A child who was in the apartment at the time of Thursday’s incident said they witnessed Fogle attacking the victim. WXIA reported that the child was struck in the head and suffered a laceration when they tried to intervene.
Fogle was also accused of taking the victim’s phone so she could not call the police or an ambulance.
Police said the assault continued outside, with Fogle repeatedly stabbing the woman in the presence of her children and a neighbor. Fogle allegedly then entered another apartment — where he put a knife to a second woman’s back while demanding her car keys. The woman’s child was home at the time, according to WXIA.
Hours later, police found Fogle sleeping inside the stolen vehicle at a gas station in Doraville and placed him under arrest without incident.
Jailed in Fulton County, Fogle is charged with aggravated assault, cruelty to children, armed robbery, home invasion, battery, and terroristic threats and acts. WXIA reported that he also has an active warrant for aggravated assault in DeKalb County.
