The book, which was released on Jan. 4, invites readers “on an intimate journey that merges the raw intimacy of a memoir with the actionable insights of a personal development guide to gain clarity and healing,” according to the website. “In a unique twist, Monique frames each chapter through ‘love letters’ addressed to past, present, and future selves, demonstrating how confronting our pain can lead us toward a more compassionate, purposeful life.”

Monique spoke with PEOPLE on Jan. 4, where she revealed that readers will “uncover” a version of themselves “waiting to be released.” “Prepare to show gratitude to the old you as you step into this new, unfamiliar version of yourself, fueled by self-love, wholeness, and acceptance,” she told the publication. “Your journey to becoming the best version of YOU begins here, one love letter at a time.”

“I am so excited about this book, Love Letters from Versions of Myself,” Monique explained during a confessional in the episode. “This book is about my own healing journey. And the reason that I wrote this book is that I did not realize how many other women who had experienced some of the same things. So if I can be that voice for the person that feels alone, that’s what I want to be.”
