BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (TCN) —Â A 21-year-old man and his 40-year-old mother were arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 58-year-old woman over a dispute about alleged stolen property.
According to the Bullhead City Police Department, on the evening of Aug. 20, officers responded to Holly Street and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to her back. She was transported to a hospital, and police later announced she died from her injuries.
Detectives identified and arrested two suspects in the shooting: Tyler Nelson and his mother, Toni Sierra. Allegedly, Nelson and Sierra went to the Holly Street home to “confront a resident about stolen property” when Nelson shot the homeowner. The victim was reportedly unarmed at the time.
Authorities arrested Nelson on an initial charge of attempted second-degree murder at a traffic stop and located a firearm inside the vehicle.
Police contacted Sierra at her home and arrested her for her alleged role in the shooting.
Additional charges may be added as the investigation continues.
