Mother to Makes Court Appearance, Still No Sign of Missing 3-year-old – Crime Online

The mother of missing Wisconsin child, Elijah Vue, is set to appear in Manitowoc County court to potentially face a child neglect charge.

According to ABC 2, police are seeking a “party to a crime of child neglect” charge against Katrina Baur, the mother of Elijah, a 3-year-old who’s currently the centerpiece of an AMBER Alert.

Police are also recommending a child abuse charge against a second person, scheduled for court on Thursday afternoon. His connection with the case has not yet been confirmed. WHBY reports that the man and Baur live at the same residence.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Elijah was last seen by his caregiver at about 8 a.m. in the 3900 block of Mishicot Road in Manitowoc County. Police said no family members or other “associates” were in the area at the time.

Around 12 hours later, the man was arrested, followed by Elijah’s mother on Wednesday, Manitowoc County Clerk of Courts records state.

Meanwhile, the search for Elijah continues.

Police spent days searching at an apartment complex on Mishicot Road, gathering evidence in the area where Elijah was last seen. They’ve also searched surrounding neighborhoods and parks, police said.

“Our search and rescue teams have been combing through our neighborhoods, parks, and wooded areas, and they’ve been following up on all leads and tips from the public,” Two Rivers Police Chief Ben Meinnert said Wednesday.

Elijah is described as being of Hmong and white ethnicity with dark blond hair and brown eyes. He is 3 feet tall and has a birthmark on his left knee. He was last seen wearing gray pants, a long-sleeved, dark shirt, and red and green dinosaur slip-on shoes. He may have been carrying a red and white plaid blanket.

Police said they have requested assistance from local, state, and federal sources using dogs, drones, and personnel. They are also asking residents to check surveillance cameras for any images of the missing boy, as well as vehicles, outbuildings, and garages.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the state tip line at 844-267-6648, Two Rivers police at 920-686-7200, or the P3 app for anonymous tips.
