Neighbor Charged With Murdering ‘King of the Hill’ Actor Jonathan Joss – Crime Online

On Monday, a Texas grand jury indicted a man for murdering “King of the Hill” actor Jonathan Joss in June.

The Houston Chronicle reported that Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez, 57, was charged with fatally shooting Joss, 57, outside Joss’ former home in San Antonio. Police concluded that Alvarez and Joss were arguing when Alvarez got a gun and shot Joss several times.

Alvarez allegedly drove away after shooting Joss, who was found on the roadway before being pronounced dead.

Residents told KENS that Joss lived in the neighborhood for a while, but his home burned down months before the slaying. They claimed he would return to get his mail.

The residents also alleged that he had an ongoing feud with Alvarez — which entailed the pair facing off with weapons. Joss was often seen carrying a crossbow, they told KENS.

“We reported these threats to law enforcement multiple times and nothing was done,” Joss’ husband wrote on a GoFundMe page for . “Throughout that time, we were harassed regularly by individuals who made it clear they did not accept our relationship. Much of the harassment was openly homophobic.”

Alvarez allegedly admitted to killing Joss on the night of the slaying.

“We were not threatening anyone. We were grieving. We were standing side by side. When the man fired, Jonathan pushed me out of the way. He saved my life,” Joss’ husband told the Houston Chronicle.

The news outlet reported that residents made more than 70 complaints against Joss. They alleged Joss would make threats and carry pitchforks, tomahawks, and other weapons.

In addition to “King of the Hill,” Joss also had a recurring role on “Parks and Recreation.” Alvarez is currently free $200,000 bond.
