Neighbor Recalls Dog’s Bizarre Behavior on 2 Key Dates, Search Continues – Crime Online

A neighbor of missing Arizona mother Nancy Guthrie says his dogs exhibited strange behavior on two nights in January, coinciding with two key dates authorities are investigating.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Guthrie was last seen at her Catalina Foothills home on January 31, following dinner with family members. They reported her missing the following day.

Neighbor Jeff Lamie, who lives four houses from Guthrie, stated that on both January 11 and January 31, his dogs acted suspicious and wanted to go outside, which was unusual, given the time.

“Our dogs woke up, which is highly unusual,” Lamie told Crime Stories host Nancy Grace. “We don’t know if there’s a correlation…it may have been a little bit past 1 a.m. [January 31]”

“They are usually sound sleepers. [We] take them out before heading to bed. I don’t know if they heard something, smelled something.”

“I believe January 11 was another date that was in question. We had this activity at that time…we didn’t really think about this until we were asked to review our video.”

On both occasions, according Lamie, the dogs looked off “to the distance,” but he did not spot anything unusual.

FBI agents previously asked neighbors for camera footage, including January 11 between 9 p.m. to midnight, and between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on January 31.

Agents are also still trying to determine the identity of the “porch guy” seen at Guthrie’s front door on two occasions.

On January 11, a masked man appeared casual as he walked up to the home without a backpack or gun.

In another image, an armed man wearing a wearing a holstered pistol and a black Ozark Trail backpack appeared at Guthrie’s front door in the early morning hours of February 1.

Authorities have also been focusing on construction sites and a vacant home in the neighborhood.

Over $1 million is being offered in the case.

  • $102,500: 88-CRIME
  • $100,000: 1-800-CALL-FBI
  • $1 million from the Guthrie family: 1-800-CALL-FBI (tips can be anonymous)

Tipsters can also contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department tip line at 520-351-4900.

Homeowners in the area are encouraged to submit relevant security footage through the PCSD Evidence Submission Portal.
