According to Tucson’s ABC affiliate KGUN9, the ransom note demanded the amount to be paid before 5 p.m. Monday. The note reportedly “threatened to kill Nancy Guthrie” if the payment isn’t received.
“Multiple ransom notes have been sent out to the media, including one that was sent to us,” JJ McKinney from KGUN9 reported.
“In the letter, the potential kidnappers demanded that the Guthries pay them $6 million before this Monday.”
Law enforcement has not yet confirmed the note’s validity.
The demand followed Savannah Guthrie’s plea Saturday on Instagram. She stated that the family is willing to pay for her mother’s safe return.
