The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 kicks off in true cinematic fashion. The genre? Horror — with a whole lot of drama mixed in.
Shot in a found footage style, reminiscent of The Blair Witch Project, a chilling new sneak peek of the cold open in RHOSLC‘s Season 6 premiere (airing on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at 8 p.m. ET/PT), begins with scenes of the cast — including Mary Cosby, Heather Gay, Angie Katsanevas, Meredith Marks, Bronwyn Newport, Whitney Rose, and friend Britani Bateman — happily enjoying a snowy RV camping trip.
“True friendship unfolds over time — shaped by hardship, grace, shared memories, and made safe with trust,” Mary says in a voiceover, as the ladies (sans Lisa Barlow) document themselves laughing, dancing, and striking silly poses with camcorders.
Suddenly, an eerie soundtrack begins to play, and the images turn to black and white, as Mary cryptically continues, “But when trust is gone, fear takes over. Blame points fingers. And friend turns against friend.”

Glimpses of the snowflake-holders appearing to be lost and frightened amid a “crazy” struggle to find their way back to their campsite with flashlights are intermixed with previews of the real scream-fest: the women fighting with each other for reasons that are yet to be revealed.
As Mary ominously concludes her narration, “And that’s how the witch hunt begins.”
The RHOSLC Season 6 cold open teases explosive feuds ahead
Scary supernatural forces are the least of the RHOSLC cast’s problems. As for which of the ladies are clashing in the clips, you’ll have to wait for the season to play out, because the preview intentionally gives a one-sided perspective.
First, Bronwyn, who appears to be aboard a boat, calls out someone for drama involving her husband, Todd Bradley. “You never say you were wrong. You were wrong to say that about Todd,” she shouts. “Don’t f–king speak about my family again. God!”
In what appears to be the same momment (likely from the Below Deck Down Under crossover episode), Meredith fumes, “You are not a safe space, you’re a liar,” before adding, “I find that to be despicable, I don’t care!”

Cut to Heather in a colonial-era costume and wig elsewhere, venting, “Don’t gaslight me! I did nothing wrong! And you just sit there and lie?”
Next, Whitney yells at an unseen person, “I’m done with you! She didn’t stand up for you, and everyone talked about it. And I did not pile on!”
An emotional Angie, meanwhile, seethes, “She is degrading me. I will not have my reputation f–king questioned!”
Finally, Mary bluntly asks, “Why are we here if we’re not friends?! If we all feel the same way, is something wrong?”
Where the RHOSLC cast friendships stand ahead of Season 6
In a separate RHOSLC Season 6 preview, Heather breaks down where the cast’s friendships stand four months after the explosive Season 5 reunion.
“Meredith cannot stand Britani,” Heather explains in her update, before admitting that she’s “not a fan of Bronwyn’s,” either.
“I’m not actually sure where Mary stands with anyone, and that’s kind of what you get with Mary,” she continues. “And then, there’s Angie, Whitney, and especially Bronwyn, who are all not getting along with Lisa right now.”
As Heather concludes, “One might ask why we’re going on a girls’ trip when there are five ongoing disputes. But that’s actually kind of tame for this group.”
