Investigators in South Carolina are looking for the person who hit a 31-year-old mother in a Spartanburg County parking lot last week, dragging her and killing her.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said it was called to the scene early in the morning on January 7 and found Dané Josephine Waddell dead.
“We have evidence that she was run over and dragged by a vehicle,” Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger told the Post and Courier.
Deputies have identified the type of car that hit Waddell using security footage, but they have not tracked it down and didn’t provide information about what type of car it is, according to WHNS, which apparently didn’t ask for a description.
Family said that Waddell had her first child, a girl, in October. Waddell’s aunt, Sheina Waddell, called on the driver to come forward to police.
“How would they feel about the impact of this happening to their family?” she told the Post and Coureir. “What would they feel like? Would they want (the driver) to come forward for peace of mind for the family and justice for the family?”
Anyone with information should contact sheriff’s investigator Nick Federico at 864-503-4591 or [email protected].
