The ongoing search for a 7-year-old North Carolina boy ended on Tuesday after his body was discovered in a pond, officials said.
Randolph County police said Liam North’s body was found in a pond not far from where he vanished on Sunday. WRAL reported that an AMBER Alert was issued for North, who vanished after walking away in Asheboro.
WFMY reported that the pond was drained to locate North. Foul play is not suspected in his death.
North was nonverbal. His death remains under investigation.
