Funeral Service for Haahneenuúxu’ Red Bear “Frost on the Trees” will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, December 21, 2023, at the All Saints Catholic Church in Eagle Butte. Burial will be in the St. Theresa’s Cemetery in Whitehorse under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Haahneenuúxu’ Red Bear “Frost on the Trees” was born sleeping on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD.
Haahneenuúxu is a little brother to Naden, Talise, Liam, Gabriel, and Matthew Jr. Son to Sara Garreau and Matthew Red Bear Sr.
Maternal grandson to Diane Garreau & Elroy Yellowbird. Paternal grandson to Bobby Red Bear, the Late Francine Red Bear, & The Late Jeanne Bowman. Special nephew to Julie Garreau.
We will spend the rest of our lives wishing and wondering. What we won’t wonder is how much he was loved. He was and is deeply loved, and we will miss him.
Our little baby boy now returns to the Star Nation, where all our waiting relatives will welcome him home. Grandma Iyonne will say, “Come here, ma’boy,” with arms wide open. And we are certain she will never put him down.
