Lance Lee Schnaible, 59, of Java passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025, at his home in Java. Local arrangements with Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Memorial services will be held in Minneapolis, MN.Â
Lance Lee Schnaible (November 5, 1965-May 11, 2025) passed away unexpectedly at the age of 59. He was a kind and gentle soul whose life was marked by hard work and resilience. Lance was born in Mobridge, South Dakota to Ray Schnaible of Java, South Dakota and Susan Thomas of Aitkin, Minnesota. The family moved to the Twin Cities area of Minnesota when Lance was six years old, though Lance spent many summers in South Dakota with his grandparents in Java. He got his first job bagging groceries at the age of 14, and worked his way up, eventually becoming a manager.  He loved to cook and utilized this skill as a chef at Pulaski’s, a Polish restaurant in Osseo, Minnesota, and to take care of family and friends. Lance also loved music and being outside – fishing, camping, and getting a tan. Lance returned to South Dakota in 2015 to live with his father, worked for the Walworth County jail, and over the last several years, was working in the agricultural industry. He will be deeply missed.Â
He is survived by his daughter, Madelin Schnaible, mother, father, and two sisters, Sarah Eisenreich and Briana Schnaible. Â Â
