Obituary | Shalako White Lightning of Ft. Yates, North Dakota

June 29, 1984 – April 7, 2025

Funeral services for Shalako White Lightning, 40, of Ft. Yates, will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Red Gym in Cannonball. Burial will be at the Episcopal Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Shalako passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City. 

Shalako White Lightning was born June 29, 1984, in Bismarck, North Dakota to Clovia White Lightning. 

Shalako liked visiting with her family and friends and like going fishing. 

Shalako is survived by her daughters, Clovia White Lightning, Leonna, Elystra, Destiny, Amara and Angel, all of Ft. Yates, her sons, Jacob of Fargo, and Christopher of Ft. Yates, her sisters Cindy Red Stone, Felita Brave Bull, Nellie Brave Bull and brother Lee Brave Bull, her aunties, Carmelita White Lightning, Neva White Lightning, Johnelle Gullickson all of Cannonball, Patricia White Lightning of New York Candice White Lightning of Rapid City, and Karen White Lightning of Cannonball. 

Shalako is preceded in death by her mother, Clovia White Lightning, sister, Celeste Red Stone, nephew, Quentin Standing Bear, great grandmother, Theresa White Lightning, grandfather, John White Lightning, auntie, Vera White Lightning, uncles, Hershel White Lightning, Hadley White Lightning, Owen Gullickson and cousins, Florence Little Bird, Breanna White Lightning, Craig Ramsey, and Katlyn Gullickson
