Grondin, MD, MPH, FRCSC, FACSwas a famousThoracic surgeon, surgeon who mainly focuses on the thoracic area (chest area) at Alberta Health Services and also taught surgery at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine. His exact birth date is not yet known, however, according to sources, he was born in 1966.
Dr. Grondin got his medical education in general surgery at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Later he completed his degree in thoracic surgery at the University of Toronto, and fellowship in thoracic oncology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and a master’s degree program at the Harvard School of Public Health.
He received further training in minimally invasive thoracic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. Grondin started his clinical practice at Northwestern University in Chicago before moving to Calgary. Dr. Sean received many awards and recognition, including the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada “Mentor of the Year” award, and the James IV Association of Surgeons Canadian Traveling Fellowship award.
Dr. Sean Grondin was the only Canadian surgeon to have served as President of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) in 2021.
When it comes to his personal life, he tied the knot with his wife, Cathy Grondin, and was blessed with 2 children; a daughter, Kate Grondin, and a son, Ben Grondin.
