A woman was killed in the crash, caused when the teen lost control and hit two other vehicles in Woodland, and ten other people — three of them children, including the 13-year-old suspect — were transported to hospitals for treatment, KOVR reported.

Investigators have determined that the driver of the vehicle that the officer was following is a 13-year-old boy who was driving a stolen car. CHP is investigating the cause of the crash. We will post more information as it becomes available.#WoodlandPD

The Woodland Police Department said that the California Highway Patrol was investigating the incident.
Woodland Police said officers spotted the suspect vehicle driving erratically in a 25 mph zone. The driver refused to stop when the officers tried to pull the vehicle over, KOVR said. Officers pursued until the driver lost control and crashed. Two of the three vehicles involved caught fire.

The suspect was one of the minors injured and remains hospitalized. He was the only person in his vehicle.

The Sacramento Bee said he was charged with vehicular manslaughter with negligence and evading an officer causing injury.
