A North Carolina man was arrested for allegedly trying to push a McDonald’s employee in a deep fryer last week.
WKRC reported that Dwayne Waden, 57, went to the High Point McDonald’s after his wife, who worked there, called him about a co-worker “disrespecting” her. Waden allegedly put his hands around a 34-year-old employee’s neck, punched him in the face, and pushed his head down towards a deep fryer.
Waden continued to punch the victim until other employees broke up the fight, according to WCNC. Police said the victim was hospitalized for a contusion on his forehead and right eye, in addition to scratches on his neck.
Police arrested Waden — a pastor at Elevated Life International Ministries in High Point — after viewing security footage which allegedly showed Thursday’s altercation.
Waden, who was charged with simple assault, is free on a $1,000 bond. He is due in court on January 22.
