DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (TCN) — Authorities recently arrested a 50-year-old woman accused of attacking her boyfriend and trying to kill him with a cleaver.
According to a news release from the Central Bucks Regional Police Department, on July 12, officers responded to the area of South Main and State streets and met with Robin McNamara outside the building. Her clothes were reportedly “soaked in blood.”
McNamara told officers the blood was from the victim, who WPVI-TV reports is her boyfriend. She also allegedly said they got into an argument, and she believed she broke his nose. Police discovered the victim inside the apartment and observed a deep cut to the back of his head that went down to the skull. He had also reportedly suffered several other lacerations to his shoulders and forearm, as well as bruising down his back.
Per an affidavit reviewed by WPVI, McNamara posted on Facebook that her boyfriend had assaulted her.
According to police, the victim claimed McNamara attacked him with a “cleaver-type knife,” which they recovered from the scene. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.
McNamara was arrested and faces charges of attempted third-degree murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, possession of an instrument of crime, and harassment.
