Philadelphia police are looking for a tow truck driver suspected of shooting and killing two competitors.
Najee Williams, 27, should be considered “armed and dangerous,” police said.
Police said that the first shooting took place on December 22, 2025, when they found 20-year-old David Garcia-Morales inside his tow truck with critical injuries. He had been shot in the neck and thigh and died at Temple University Hospital four days later.
The second incident occurred on January 11, when police found 25-year-old Aaron Whitfield dead from multiple gunshots to the head and body. He was also inside his tow truck. A second victim — a 21-year-old woman — survived the shooting with a gunshot to her leg.
Police said at a news conference on Sunday that Williams owns NKW Towing & Recovery, WCAU reported. They identified him from surveillance video of the two scens, but they are also trying to determine if Williams was involved in the murder of another tow truck driver in November.
“We believe there’s some kind of connection there. We’re not ready to go on record to say this is a part of that homicide, but we are working towards that direction,” said Ernest Ransom, who commands the Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit.
The District Attorney’s Office approved charges of murder, firearms, conspiracy, possessing an instrument of crime, and recklessly endangering another person against Williams, police said.
A reward of $20,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction has been offered. Anyone with information should call the PPD tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
