The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills businessman has long credited his dad, Eduardo Umansky, as one of the biggest influences in his career. But Mauricio didn’t just inherit Eduardo’s entrepreneurial spirit; it seems he also inherited his dad’s love of dancing and solid sense of humor.

This was proven on Sunday, December 14, when Mauricio’s youngest daughter, Portia Umansky, offered a rare glimpse into the bond between her father and granddad. The high school senior posted a video of Mauricio and Eduardo participating in a wholesome TikTok trend during the first night of Hanukkah. The clip showed the pair dancing side by side to “Bikini Bottom Day” from The SpongeBob Musical, as the family dog Georgie tried to get in on the action.
“Nothing can beat this trio,” Portia captioned the clip. “Mauricio did his big one.”
The video was filmed at the Encino home Mauricio purchased with his now-estranged wife, Kyle Richards.

Mauricio Umansky sheds light on his relationship with his dad
Mauricio addressed his relationship with Eduardo in his 2023 memoir, The Dealmaker: How to Succeed in Business and Life Through Dedication, Determination & Disruption. Mauricio said there was a time when he was struggling to find a career path, but he ultimately joined his family’s textile business after receiving a bit of tough love from his father.
He recalled Eduardo telling him, “Listen, I’m kind of sick taking care of you while you’re bumming around and, now with the current financial challenges, it’s not the same world it was before. You need to either get a job or go to school, but I’m no longer supporting you being a pseudo athlete or just having fun.'”

Mauricio continued to work for the family business until it was sold in the 1990s, and then pivoted to luxury real estate. In 2011, the RHOBH dad officially launched The Agency brokerage firm, which counts Eduardo among its founding members.

“Eduardo has owned and managed many businesses since he graduated from The National University of Mexico as a public accountant with an emphasis in finance and macroeconomics,” his online employee profile read. “His diverse business experience ranges from cotton importing to textile and garment manufacturing and now to luxury real estate. He brings an insatiable curiosity and passion for people in everything he does.”
