A New Jersey woman is facing criminal charges for reportedly stabbing her 2-year-old brother on Saturday.
Police officers who responded to a Brick Township residence found the injured toddler before taking his sister, Marlene Rodriguez, 20, into custody. According to NJ.com, the boy was hospitalized and is listed in stable condition.
An investigation determined that Rodriguez stabbed her younger brother in the chest, but Ocean County prosecutors have not revealed what led to the attack.
Rodriguez was charged with attempted murder, endangering the welfare of a child, and weapons offenses. She remains jailed without bond.
