Rachel Zoe purchased the “divorce ring” of her “dreams” in December amid her divorce from Rodger Berman. And now, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member is sharing some new details behind her reasoning for making such a major purchase.
Rachel recently appeared on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle, where she revealed that purchasing the ring was empowering for her. “Why do women have to wait their whole lives to get a ring because they’re engaged?” she asked in a clip from the show posted to Instagram on Tuesday. “Why can’t they just have a ring that’s either, ‘OK, I’m divorced. I’m free. I’m widowed. I’m single.'”
“And don’t get me wrong, I love men. I love love,” she added. “This is not like anti-man in any way. I love men and good men. I think we have to change the narrative around it. And, as we were talking about it, you need a ring.”
“Why wait? Buy the diamond now,” she concluded.
Rachel Zoe reveals how her sons shaped her divorce ring
Rachel admitted that her youngest son, Kaius Berman, helped design the diamond ring, complete with three large oval diamonds, set in a platinum band. The ring is also meant to represent him and his older brother, Skyler Berman. “He picked the stones, and he said, ‘Mommy, you be the big one. And me and Sky are on each side beside you.'”
Rachel first showed off the ring in a post to her Instagram Story in December. “A divorce ring of my dreams created custom by [Ring Concierge],” she captioned the photo. “I could die!!!!!!!!”
She further opened up about the ring in a December interview with The Zoe Report. “I’m happily divorced,” she explained. “You get an engagement ring when you get married, but why can’t we buy ourselves a ring when we’re happily independent?”
“I think it’s incredibly important that women also mark this time in our lives,” she added.

Details on Rachel Zoe’s engagement rings
Prior to getting her divorce ring, Rachel had two different engagement rings from Rodger. Rachel’s first engagement ring, which she received in the 90’s featured an emerald-cut diamond with baguette accent stones, according to Glamour. Her second engagement ring was a bit different than the first, as it was a cushion-cut diamond in a halo setting.
Rachel also got a new, upgraded ring in the form of a 10-carat cushion-cut Neil Lane ring in 2011. This was gifted to her by Rodger shortly after she welcomed Skyler into the world.

Rachel has been very candid about her split and navigating her divorce from Rodger since she announced it in 2024. More recently, Rachel spoke on the topic with PEOPLE in December 2025, revealing that she knew the relationship were fractured when she “started to question decisions” and realized that they couldn’t get on the same page “on what certain outcomes should be.”
“I started to feel like this may not be the most advantageous situation for our children,” she explained.

Although she has not gone public with any relationship, Rachel admitted to PEOPLE in December that she has re-entered the dating pool amid her separation.
“It’s incredibly fun. To be honest that wasn’t hard for me to get into. It really wasn’t,” she explained. “Anyone who comes into my life and our lives is only going to be someone that adds value in terms of making me laugh, making me smile, and really just making sense. It’ll have to feel organic and natural to who I am now.”
