The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Rachel Zoe is admitting that she has some changing to do, and it partly stems from the much-talked-about potential romance between her and Mauricio Umansky.
The recently single 90210-er gave new insight about how friends tried to hook her up with Kyle Richards’ estranged husband during a trip to Aspen, Colorado in a Hollywood Reporter interview published on Dec. 18. Although matchmaking efforts by mutual friends were unfruitful, the fashion mogul regretted bringing up the event while cameras were rolling.
“In hindsight, I said that so flippantly [on the show], and it’s haunting me; the same way I flippantly said that we should have a hot girl summer,” Rachel lightheartedly confessed. “I can’t tell you how much that’s haunted me over the last couple of weeks! I have to be a little more mindful of what comes out of my mouth.”
The Housewife repeated her account of her and Mauricio’s pals’ unsuccessful setup, as she had on the series and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills After Show, amid her separation from Rodger Berman, and as Mauricio and Kyle navigate their own dating lives. “It’s like because two people are getting divorced, they should go out,” Rachel said. “I’m like, ‘That’s Kyle’s ex-husband. I’m not dating Kyle’s ex-husband. No.’”

Did Rachel Zoe and Mauricio Umansky ever go out?
No. However, Rachel first dropped the bombshell that her friends wanted to set her up with The Agency real estate founder on the RHOBH Season 15 premiere, and she later added on the RHOBH After Show, “We were at this music festival in this, like, big VIP area with, like, I don’t know, maybe 100 people in it. There was a couple of people … that I’d known for many, many years, that were in from New York. And they literally were like, ‘Oh my god, do you know Mau? You should go out with Mau.’”
Not half an hour later, someone else made the same suggestion.
“I literally was like, ‘Are you OK? No,’” she said, describing a later moment when she and Mauricio came face to face as “awkward.” “My knee-jerk response was, like, no. Even just my relationship with [Kyle’s sister, Kathy Hilton]… It was a hard no.”
